What we do

PublicationsPublications

Members of the Wider Europe Network have published extensively on legal, political and economic aspects of the EU's relations with its European neighbours. These policy analyses are here published as Wider Europe Working Papers, and shorter Wider Europe Notes. Interested scholars and practitioners are encouraged to contribute to the Working Paper series.

Event in NatolinEvents

The Wider Europe Network began as a forum for discussion between academics, practitioners and other stakeholders. It remains an important part of what we do. Each year, the network organises conferences and seminars on Wider Europe issues. Events have been held in a number of European cities (Kiev, Warsaw, Birmingham, Berlin, Brussels, Helsinki, Bratislava, Brighton) and often in collaboration with local universities and research institutes, as well as with EU institutions.

The core members of the network are academics, who individually have advised several European governments and EU institutions over the past decade. Our partners have included the Swedish International Development Agency, the government of Ukraine, the government of Poland, the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Council of Europe.
